We are searching for an interior design student who wants to join in on the fun while getting an inside look into the interior design industry.

Summer 2020 Interior Design Internship

Overview

Our summer Interior Design Internship is a 3-4 month unpaid program focused on giving third or fourth year interior design students an inside look at the design industry. The applicant will be selected for the summer season, May-August, and make a 2 day/week commitment. The applicant should be proficient in CAD, Chief Architect and have a car.

What you can expect

As an Interior Design Intern, you will get to participate in a supervised learning experience alongside a team of award-winning designers to utilize and sharpen your skills in CAD, Chief Architect drawings, space planning, renderings, client presentations, and staging models. You may learn how to prepare samples and selections for furniture and fabric, client presentations and company marketing events.

Other activities may include vendor presentations, furniture installations, and spec home and model staging and photo shoots.

You’ll learn directly with our team to help accomplish day-to-day tasks and assist with design-related errands.

Please note: This internship is unpaid and there should be no expectation of any entitlement to be paid at the end.

Application Requirements

  • Third (preferred) or fourth year of an undergraduate degree in an interior design-related field.
  • Be available 2 days a week from May-August to work at our Studio at 1132 S Rangeline Road in Carmel, IN. Typical hours are 10-5 pm. (Tuesday-Thursday preferred; some flexibility).
  • Have a car and be willing to use it for project work.
  • Have experience in software: Microsoft Office, Adobe Creative Suite, Auto Cad, Chief Architect, and Sketch Up.
  • Have a positive attitude, willingness to learn and passion for design.
  • Be motivated to work independently.
  • Conduct oneself in a professional manner in both dress and demeanor.
  • Need to fulfill an internship as part of a degree program (preferred).
