Bright Transitional Refresh

We redesigned this beautiful Carmel home to create a fresh, bright, inviting ambience filled with plenty of functional details. The objective for the great room was to achieve a lighter, brighter appeal by eliminating the predominant brown tones and refinishing the floors to a natural shade, making the space look more current.

The kitchen was designed with beautiful white cabinets with stylish navy accents. Although the original hood was excessively decorative, the clients sought an engaging centerpiece. This was accomplished by incorporating an impressive two-tone metal hood complemented by a marble backsplash. To enhance the islands’ presence, which felt lacking in substance, we designed a new shape that offered plenty of seating for their large family. Additionally, the microwave was relocated to a lower cabinet, making that section feel less crowded. In the butler’s pantry, floating wood shelves were installed to provide some visual interest, along with a beverage refrigerator. The kitchen nook felt incomplete, so a booth-like atmosphere with an upholstered bench was created with beautiful wainscoting in the backdrop. The addition of an oval table further softened the overall look.

In the living room, we seamlessly integrated the blue and wood accents through carefully chosen fabrics, tile selections, and shelving. The hall, bath, foyer, and dining room were all similarly refreshed, creating a cohesive and harmonious flow throughout the home.
