The Process

In many ways, this home was a designer’s dream, with few constraints and agreeable clients. However, some of the fixtures and materials previously selected gave the space a cold, almost institutional feel. Everything Home took the reins to create a welcoming space that was open but far from boring with a plethora of unique touches like the following:

• Functional and fun barn doors created a focal point and made the office more connected with the living space when the family wanted it to be.
• Warm wood elements continued with a dining room table constructed by a local woodworker and family friend. Exposed beams – skinnier and taller like floor joists – highlighted the entry and offered a unique touch.
• One of the living room’s focal points was a stunning fireplace surrounded by large tiles and augmented by a wrap-around bench.

• An eye-catching blue was used on the islands and base cabinets in the kitchen while keeping the feel light and bright on top.

• Quartz was used for the countertops, including a waterfall island counter, and for the backsplash, going vertical with a material typically used in horizontal surfaces.

• Due to the size of the home, some exciting and larger items were implemented, including a floating vanity, floor and wall tiles, and mirrors.

Warm wood elements and unique patterns, such as those in the tile and wallpaper, created a consistent flow in this whole-home design. A mixture of metals brought the design together, adding even more interest to the home.
