Gary Hubbard joined the Everything Home team two years ago as a project manager for large renovation projects. With a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management, an Associate Degree in Electrical Engineering Technology, and many years of on-the-job experience including running his own remodeling business—Gary hit the ground running! Managing extensive renovations from start-to-finish is second nature to him, and helping clients realize their dream home is where he finds his motivation.

What is the most challenging part of managing home design projects?
In today’s world it is extremely difficult to get materials and supplies on time and sometimes they sadly don’t arrive at all. It is not uncommon for deliveries to arrive weeks to months late, so tracking deliveries and quickly responding to challenges that pop up is critical. Staying flexible with our designs and installation schedule is also crucial.
What is your favorite thing about your job?
Seeing the excitement and satisfaction of the client when they see the design come to life has got to be my favorite part. It is one thing to see their design in digital form but when it becomes reality, that is a whole new level of excitement.
What is the most rewarding part of managing home design projects?
We have an incredibly talented design staff and it is very rewarding to be part of bringing their designs to fruition. It is exciting to be part of delivering the design to the client in a tangible form for them to enjoy for years to come.
Why does every build or renovation project need a project manager, in your opinion?
As the project manager, I manage all the trades and vendors to make sure the job gets completed as designed. We work with a talented group of trades that we are confident can do the work needed at the quality and level expected.
Without a project manager, you have to find your own trades and/or a general contractor and they will not necessarily be familiar with the design or level of service provided by a seasoned project manager. Working with a project manager gains you access to a whole community of respected help to ensure the job is done with success.

Spending quality time with my family, working with my hands (remodeling, building, landscaping, etc.) or playing a round of golf.
