The Process

Involved in this 8,000-square-foot custom build from concept to completion, we present a space that exudes the ultimate in upscale living with a grounded, Midwestern feel. More masculine stone and metal elements are balanced beautifully with lighter walls and abundant natural light flowing through the home’s many windows and skylights. Our goal was to honor the breathtaking pastoral setting and incredible architecture. We think you’ll find that we did. Here are some of the highlights:

• The primary bath is full of unique elements, like a smoky-colored acrylic, see-through soaking tub. A tiled wall of natural stone is set into an arched alcove, and stylish black onyx fixtures complete the look.

• Our towering steel fireplace chase and extended range hood were fabricated by a local craftsman. Beautifully finished, these elements connect the spaces and bring cohesion to the home.

• Distinctive layered wood paneling in various shapes and colors, including one with clever pocket lighting, adds visual appeal to headboard walls and various living spaces.

• A lower-level bar area with a wine closet, elongated banquette-style seating, and splendid views of an outdoor waterfall gives the space a swanky, speakeasy feel. 

• Folding doors in a custom, floor-to-ceiling entertainment center conceal a television when not in use and neatly open over built-in bookcases when it’s time to watch a game or movie.

• Arched elements in bathrooms, living areas, and bedrooms, including the stunning beams of the master bedroom, add cohesion to the home.
