The Process

After falling in love with our design studio, the client initially entered into a furniture agreement but later decided to update and refresh her space to achieve the English cottage vibe she wanted. We focused on the kitchen and butler’s pantry, entryway, and powder bath to get the greatest impact within her budget. Here’s how this unique project came together:

• The entry walls are lined with deep, blue-gray wainscotting, which offers the perfect counterpoint to the ceiling’s dramatic gold leaf wallpaper and crystal-embellished chandelier.
• A distinctive wood facing on the kitchen island adds warmth, and the same wood is used to create a more substantial range hood by framing over the existing metal one.
• The backsplash features a handmade ceramic tile backsplash in a green herringbone pattern that provides a lovely, soothing touch.
• Earth tones continue throughout the refresh as the soft green found in the backsplash is carried over to the painted front sides of the island cabinets.
• The powder bath is color-drenched in the same delightful green shade and matched with a floral-themed wallpaper.
• French doors add drama and help define the entry while maintaining access to the living space beyond.

New lighting, faucets, cabinet hardware, and additional elements like an arched gold accent mirror in the powder room bring the vision together.
